Applying Aerated Compost Tea

Purchases in excess of 50 Gallons qualify for FREE DELIVERY & APPLICATION . For lesser quantities, there are several ways in which to apply Aerated Compost Tea. Which method you choose depends on the the amount of Tea you are applying, whether you are performing a soil drench or foliar spray, as well as other factors, including your personal preference. The following recommendations are provided as guidelines:

WATERING CAN
Watering Can Watering cans are suitable for delivering small amounts of Aerated Compost Tea, or delivering it in a very specific area. Used frequently in adding Tea to Raised Beds with or without existing plants in place. We recommend a Soil Drench, using a watering can with a "shower-style" end (pictured), that distributes the Tea evenly, rather than in a single stream.

GARDEN SPRAYER
Garden Sprayer Garden Sprayers are readily available, inexpensive, lightweight, and come in a variety of sizes, from 1 Gallon Sprayers, to backpack models with higher capacities. DO NOT USE A SPRAYER THAT HAS BEEN USED TO DELIVER PESTICIDES OR CHEMICALS. It is also recommended that you remove the tip of the sprayer, for faster delivery, and to avoid clogging the tip. Pump-style Garden Sprayers can be used to deliver Tea over larger soil areas (without stooping), or to specific plant areas within the garden. They are also effective as a means of delivering a foliar spray directly on plants, shrubs, and trees.

 SPRAY BOTTLE
Spray Bottle Household Spray Bottles are easy to use and inexpensive. Ideal for delivering very small quantities for Foliar Spraying of specific plants, or even parts of plants (for example, a disease stricken or pest-infested leaves). Perfect on houseplants also. DO NOT USE A SPRAYER THAT HAS BEEN USED TO DELIVER PESTICIDES, CHEMICALS, OR HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS.

NOTE: With the exception of preparation for transplanting trees, we do not recommend pouring Aerated Compost Tea directly from a container (such as a 1 or 5 Gallon Bucket) as this can cause topsoil runoff, and disrupt the soil food web. Thorough and even applications will render better results
